In this video, Sophie, an American Kestrel and Raptor-in-Residence here at the Alaska Raptor Center, is hunting for mealworms as part of her enrichment! The American Kestrel, North America’s smallest falcon, is one of the most colorful birds of prey. The male’s head and wings are slate-blue,with a rusty-red back and tail; the female has the same rusty-red on the wings, back, and tail. Hunting for insec
