Each summer, DNR biologists in the Fisheries Ecosystem Assessment Division pull seine nets 130 times in different locations in the shallow water of Chesapeake Bay tributaries. Fish in the nets are separated by life stage, counted, and select species are measured. Water quality readings are also taken.
