The Federal Reserve today shipped billions of dollars in new $100 bills that incorporate a host of new security features designed to make them harder to counterfeit.

In its first redesign since 1996, the new-design $100 note features additional security features including a 3-D Security Ribbon and color-shifting Bell in the Inkwell.

The new bill costs 12.6 cents to produce and has a blue ribbon woven into the center of the currency with "100" and Liberty Bells, alternating, that appear when the bill is tilted.
