Saturday Night Live (SNL) took a moment to acknowledge the popularity of the romantic-sports series Heated Rivalry and added a playful wizardry-themed twist in one of the skits during the January 17, 2026 episode. It starred Finn Wolfhard, the Stranger Things star who made his SNL hosting debut on Saturday.

In a night of spoofs, 'SNL' took on 'Heated Rivalry,' conjuring up a romance between Harry Potter and Ron Weasley in HBO's 'Heated Wizardry.'

With the success of Heated Rivalry, Saturday Night Live announced a parody of the Harry Potter franchise featuring a gay Harry played by Finn Wolfhard.

While Quidditch fans await the HBO series, they can enjoy a spoofed version as a 'Saturday Night Live' pre-taped short for now.

Harry and Ron (played by Ben Marshall) are back, a voiceover proclaims, for a new TV adaptation "hastily rewritten after the success of a certain other HBO show." There's no enemies-to-lovers trope this time around as friends Harry and Ron turn Hermione (played by Chloe Fineman) into a third wheel.

The first episode of 2026, hosted by Finn Wolfhard of “Stranger Things,” satirized that hit Netflix series and conjured a Harry Potter reboot à la “Heated Rivalry.”
